Standard Grid Connection
These comprise of an inverter, rail, panels, isolators and are connected back to the energy provider i.e. Ergon Energy for most Central Queensland users. This system is designed for a normal domestic or small business situation. Grid connected systems are the most commonly used as they have been around for the longest period of time and have a wide range of parts designed for easy installation. They are usually cheaper as well because of their simplistic nature to install and government rebate at present.

Solar power. The future is here.
SSE provides a large range of solar services to the community. Having one of the most experienced and trained solar technicians in the region, we strive to provide the most professional designs and workmanship in the industry. We have the ability to supply and install almost all types of solar equipment on the market including but not limited to:

-
Solar Bore pumps
-
Standard grid connected solar systems
-
Tigo smart solar systems
-
Micro inverter solar systems
-
Stand-alone solar systems
-
Solar hot water systems

Tigo Incorporated Grid Connected System
These systems are designed for domestic customers who want to know more about what their solar system is creating and all business types large and small. Tigo systems are very similar to a standard grid connect system with some very useful added features.
-
Minute by minute monitoring and data recording
-
Higher performance per panel
-
No shading issues for design or performance
-
Higher safety functions with individual panel isolation at ground level
-
Rapid response fault finding functions and maintenance.
-
Internet is required
The extra benefits of a Tigo incorporated system far outweighs the extra costs that are associated with installing one. The average customer installing Tigo will only pay an extra 15 - 25% more than a standard solar system depending on the size of the system installed.
Micro Grid Connected System
These systems are different in that each panel has its own micro inverter and not one main inverter for the entire system like the other options. This has many similar benefits to a Tigo solar system with some slight differences.
-
Minute by minute monitoring and data recording
-
Higher performance per panel
-
No shading issues for design or performance
-
Higher safety functions with individual panel isolation at ground level
-
Rapid response fault finding functions and maintenance.
-
Internet is not essential but preferred
-
25 year inverter warranty
This system is for domestic and small businesses also. Micro inverters have not been on the market as long as the other types of grid connected solar systems and as a result not as many people are installing them. Micro systems will cost more than a standard solar system and slightly less than a Tigo solar system.

With modern technology, you are also able to configure a solar system to meet the needs of every off grid demand possible. It only depends on how much money you want to spend and how you design your loads in the house. SSE have an excellent understanding of stand alone solar systems and offer a free consultation service for people thinking about taking their house off grid. As these systems vary so much from job to job it is hard to estimate how much you might pay but a small stand alone system would cost around $15,000 and would run lights, fans and general power (no stove). The standard house with hot water, a stove and one air conditioner would cost around $29,000.
Stand Alone Solar Systems
Also known as off - grid solar systems. There are generally only used in remote situations where running mains power is too expensive or not possible. At present the cost of buying and replacing batteries makes getting an off grid solar system not financially viable as you will not save any money on your power and will most likely be paying more.
The benefits of taking your house off the grid is that you will no longer be subjected to

Tubes Tank Parts and Labour

HOW IT WORKS
THE TUBES
Step 1
The sunlight strikes the dark absorber coating inside the evacuated tube.
Step 2
The heat pipe transfers the heat up to the copper header pipe location in the insulated manifold box.
Step 3
A circulator moves water from the storage tank to the copper pipe warming the water. The solar tank for use.
Anti-frost is built in to the Thermann system to ensure solar hot water can be provided even in cold regions.
PASSIVE SUN TRACKING
The round tube design of the Thermann system passively tracks the sun throughout the day giving the highest possible performance from early morning through to late afternoon.
RUNNING COST COMPARISON
When choosing a hot water system, there are a number of factors you need to consider beyond the unit price. Installation costs can vary greatly for different types of hot water units. Ongoing running costs should also play a part in your purchase decision. As the following chart illustrates, environmentally friendly hot water systems will always save you money over the longer term.
Guide only based on current average energy cost. This chart does not account for increased Electricity or Gas costs in coming years.

Solar Bore Pumps
Quick and easy solution to rural water needs. Once again if power was available you would find it much cheaper to install mains power to your pump however when it isn't viable to run power to your pump setting up a quick and efficient solar solution is only a phone call away. The only things you need to know if you are thinking of getting a solar bore is pipe size, depth of bore, flow rate of the bore, how much water you want to use and how far away is the tank you want to fill. A solar bore pump will usually cost between $8,000 - $12,000 depending on the size of the installation and the location of the system.
